Verizon Leveraging iPad WiFi Launch to Sell Verizon MiFi

90537-verizon-store-2.jpg

When in doubt, sell 3G data contracts and the money will roll in. According to Engadget, wireless carrier Verizon is encouraging its staffers to tell customers to purchase the WiFi-only version of the iPad and pair it up with a device like the MiFi rather than shelling out $130 more for integrated AT&T 3G and 30 days until the device launches.

Verizon has followed this up by calling its biggest competitor's 3G network "overloaded" even though there's currently a 5GB limit of data on a Verizon MiFi plan which will run users $60 a month, twice as much as AT&T will be charging for its dedicated, unlimited iPad plan.

Apple Releases iPhone SDK 3.2 Beta 4 For iPad, Removes Camera Tab

sdk_hero.png

Today Apple released (developer account required) an updated version of the iPhone SDK 3.2 beta for iPad development. Beta 4 includes several fixes for the SDK, including a fix for Safari's bookmark feature within the simulator. Additionally, it seems that Apple has removed the "Camera" tab from the Photos app within the iPad simulator. The tab led many to believe that the iPad may ship with a camera, however Apple clarifies by saying in the release notes, "The Camera tab represents photos available via the Camera Connection Kit for iPad, and is not relevant for the Simulator. The Camera tab will disappear after a few seconds."

Beta 3 was released late last month for developers to work on iPad applications ahead of the launch. Apple plans to begin shipping the iPad on April 3rd.

The EFF has noted that the version of the agreement they were able to obtain is more restrictive than before and parts of it may not be enfodceable and has listed its concerns below:

iPad May Be Missing Some iPhone Apps Upon Release, No Dashboard After All

The iPad is coming, but it may be a little light upon initial applications.

The guys at Wired noticed that there are some notable exceptions among the announced iPad

In his article, Fox theorized that a five-finger pinch motion could launch Dashboard and give access to these apps while a second motion would return them to the background.

Nokia and Apple may want to go toe to toe in the legal ring right now, but they're being told to wait a bit.

That's if it's still on and not settled by then, although Nokia seems determined to win it, and Apple apparently has enough bandwidth to handle two lawsuits at once.

Pentomino The Duel 1.0

Category: Games
Price: $1.99 -> Free (
iTunes)

Description:

If you are keen on board games and enjoy competition this game is just for you.

Unlike a classic version of Pentomimo, this game?s major objective is to defeat your opponent rather than just to piece together a jigsaw puzzle.

This is a very fast game, during which you and your opponent take turns in placing tokens on the chessboard. It is a bit more difficult than checkers but easier than chess to play. You may place your tokens in any given place provided that they do not overlap or stick out of the chessboard.

You may turn the tokens as you wish. The player who puts a token on the chessboard as the last one wins the game so try strategizing your moves to bar your opponent.

If you use a full version of the game, you do not need to wait additional 30 seconds for your opponent?s move.
