Weather Planet - First Light

Weather Planet-A slightly cooler way to look at the same old weather. • Realistically displays the earth from thousands of miles up in space • Uses current weather satellite images for constantly updated cloud cover. • Watch the seasons change as the snow cover drifts south in the winter and recedes during the summer • Select from thousands of cities and towns. • Label the constellations in background • Jump out to the moon for a look back at our home-world • News alerts bring up to date info on weather, astronomy and space events. Another fine product by the folks who brought you Distant Suns and Grand Tour-3D. NOTE: Every couple of weeks, the clouds go wonky. That's in the domain of the cloud server software, which is out of my control. It doesn't happen often, but does make for a bad first impression if that's what you see the first time. Wait a few hours and check back when a new map is available and it should be back to normal.

Shralp Tide - shralpsoftware

Check the tide before you head to the beach to surf, tide pool or just go for a walk or run. No network connection is required, so you can check anytime, anywhere. ShralpTide displays the current tide along with the high and low tides for the current day and the next 4 days. Includes an INTERACTIVE FULLSCREEN TIDE GRAPH in landscape mode. Turn the device on its side then touch the screen to see the tide at any time in the 24 hour window. --------------------------------------------- *** Regarding Tide Station Locations *** Shralp Tide does not include all of the tide stations in the world. It has good coverage of the US and Canadian coasts as well as Australia, New Zealand and Japan. Beyond that there is spotty coverage of international locations. As of version 1.1.1, currents will no longer be available in Shralp Tide because they were a source of confusion to those expecting only tides. If enough people vote YES to seany's review I'll add currents back in a future release. I just need to clearly distinguish currents from tide stations to reduce confusion. Your input is appreciated. iWeather HK - Chi Wa Hung

iWeather HK is a weather application designed with revolutionary new user interface concepts to encourage user to experience and feel the weather condition of Hong Kong. Scientists, engineers, citizens, frequent travelers, workers, students and tourists will find this application amazing and useful. iWeather HK is created with professional quality of programming and design concepts even though iWeather HK is a freeware. Traditional application will display the leftmost page as startup page and users need to navigate from the leftmost page to the rightmost page one by one. iWeather HK sets the startup page at the middle page. Users read weather information of Hong Kong by scrolling through a series of pages from the middle. A double tap on any pages will jump back to the startup (middle) page. This concept removes the tedious feeling of page by page scrolling completely. Startup (middle) page consists of current weather condition (temperature, humidity and warning) and seven days weather forecast. A picture of Hong Kong that closely matches the current weather condition will be displayed. Our design concept is to feel the weather. Right, users are not required to read tedious weather forecast messages at all. A big and readable temperature value will be displayed on the bottom of the Hong Kong picture. Weather warnings will be displayed top down from sky (top of Hong Kong picture) to the bottom. This emphasize the change has come and originated from sky. The message below the Hong Kong picture is update time. The update time shows the actual time of issue of the current weather condition, follow by temperature and humidity data. Time to get data from internet will be displayed on the right. Seven days weather forecast displays a quick list for reference. A single tap on the startup page will change the seven days weather forecast temperature value to humidity and back. Left side of startup page is camera snapshots of designated locations of Hong Kong. Double tap on the camera snapshot page will return to the middle page. Right side of startup page is weather information that narrows down from wider area weather condition to districts in Hong Kong. This enforce concept of concentration. Tap the icons at the top of Satellite and Cyclone Track page (right side of startup page) to display a bigger picture. Double tap to return to the middle page. District weather information will be displayed in the District Weather Information pages (right side of Satellite and Cyclone Track page). Double tap to return to the middle page. ThunderTimer - Finn Michael Halvorsen

Have you ever wondered how far away from you a thunderstorm is? In that case, ThunderTimer is what you have been looking for! ThunderTimer calculates how far away a lightning is based on the difference between the speed of light and the speed of sound. ThunderTimer will also give an indication of whether the thunderstorm is moving away or towards you. ThunderTimer supports both U.S. and metric units for measurement. ThunderTimer can of course be used to measure similar events, like fireworks and others. Additionally, further development goals are to use the integrated compass in IPhone 3GS together with GPS localization to pin-point the location of the lightling on a map. Another further enhancement is to log the measured distances.

Flash Boom - Cassiopeia Information Technologies

Definition: The purpose of Flash Boom is simple. It will give you an estimate of how far away lightning is. The rule of thumb says to allow about 5 seconds for each mile (3 seconds for each kilometer). In reality it is more like 4.72 seconds per mile and 2.99 seconds per kilometer. For more details, please visit http://www.wikihow.com/Calculate-the-Distance-from-Lightning Control: Tap the FLASH button when you see the lightning. The button will change to BOOM. Tap the BOOM button when you hear the thunder. Thunder will usually not travel more than 15 miles (24 kilometers). Note: If you are less than 5 miles from the lightning, please take cover. Credit: The original Flash Boom program I knew of was writen by Kim Moelgaard for the Palm OS. I adapted the concept (without access to the code) to the iPhone. Enjoy!

iPhone and iPod touch: What to do when applications close unexpectedly while in use

Applications on iPhone or iPod touch may close unexpectedly because the device has begun to run low on application memory. This does not mean there is too much data stored on the device, but simply means that it is running too many memory-intensive tasks. Some examples of this issue: If you have many Safari web pages open on your iPhone or iPod touch, Safari may close and the iPhone or iPod touch will go back to the Home screen (where it shows all the application icons). Overview of syncing iPhone or iPod touch with your computer

This article gives an overview of how to set up iPhone or iPod touch to sync with your computer, and where to get additional information. When you connect iPhone or iPod touch to your computer, items are automatically synced according to your preferences set in iTunes. You can, for example, enter phone numbers and addresses of friends and family members on your computer, connect iPhone or iPod touch to sync, then unplug iPhone or iPod touch and tap a friend's name on the touchscreen to call. You can sync Contacts—names, phone numbers, addresses, email addresses, and so on Calendars—appointments and events Notes (sync with Mac OS X Mail or Microsoft Outlook)* Web bookmarks Music and audiobooks Photos Podcasts Movies and TV shows Applications Ringtones (iPhone only) iTunes U content * Syncing is over USB only and on a Mac requires Mac OS X 10.5.7 or later. You only need to set which items are synced in iTunes on your computer once. After that, just connect iPhone or iPod touch to start a sync. Contacts, calendars, notes, and bookmarks are synced from (or to) your computer, so if you add, change, or delete them on iPhone or iPod touch, they are changed on your computer, and vice versa. You can also sync contacts with your Yahoo! or Google Address Book. Email account settings (on iPhone only), music, movies, TV shows, podcasts, and photos are synced one-way, from your computer to iPhone (though you can import photos taken with iPhone to your computer). If you like, you can set iPhone or iPod touch to sync with only a portion of what's on your computer. For example, you might want to sync only a group of contacts from your address book, or you may want to sync only songs from certain playlists so you don't fill up iPhone or iPod touch with all your music.

iPhone and iPod touch: What to do when applications close unexpectedly while in use

When listening to music or podcasts, watch video, etc. playback may stop and the device may return to the Home screen.

ThunderTimer 1.0

Category: Weather
Price: $0.99 -> Free (
iTunes)
